Celebrating Citizenship

Eddie Perez joined the Stevenson Oaks maintenance team in 2022 as the community was opening its doors. Coincidently, a new door was being opened to Eddie too. After twenty years of diligence, Eddie was officially granted American citizenship.

When his co-workers heard the exciting news, they rolled out the red carpet (literally) and honored his accomplishment with a surprise celebration. As he made his way down the carpet, the team surrounded him on each side, cheering and waving tiny American flags to symbolize their support on such a special occasion.

Armando Zapata, Plant Ops Manager and Eddie’s supervisor, shared a scripture that best describes Eddie, “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. Philippians 2:3-4" He went on to say, “Eddie is a family-oriented man of faith who embodies this scripture everyday through his work ethic and his willingness to make it right for our residents.”
